Hands Up If You’re Brown, 2018
single channel video, 6 min 1 sec
Images and scenes featuring people of colour in India and England are juxtaposed with a sound composition and a central text. The text evokes concepts of cultural identity, race and colour, with themes of celestial inter-connection.
Together with sound loops created using a rich palette of musical references, this short film reflects on the constant search for a sense of belonging. A personal cultural journey of returning to England after having lived away for a total of twenty-three years,
